Church in the time of Coronavirus

CORONAVIRUS

(updated 17 February)

We are pleased to be able to say that we have now returned to weekly services. Uniformed organizations and other groups are also meeting each week.

In line with a specific directive from the Methodist Church, we have  put in place an extensive process of risk assessment to ensure everyone is safe. It is no longer necessary to book a seat for the Sunday services, and face-coverings in church are now optional. Some seats are still socially distanced; others are now closer together.

Signs are in places to remind us about washing hands and keeping a distance,  and we shall ensure that everything is kept properly sanitised.

If you feel you are not yet ready to return to Sunday services, Deacon Michelle is happy to email or post copies of services. In addition, the Methodist Church website continues to provide guidance and links to online Sunday worship – (please paste into your browser, if necessary):

The website includes this prayer:

God of all hope we call on you today.
We pray for those who are living in fear:
Fear of illness, fear for loved ones, fear of other’s reactions to them.
May your Spirit give us a sense of calmness and peace.

We pray for your church in this time of uncertainty.
For those people who are worried about attending worship.
For those needing to make decisions in order to care for other
For those who will feel more isolated by not being able to attend.
Grant us your wisdom.

Should you like to be included in the weekly mailing of the Sunday service, please contact us via the website.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO TALK TO, PLEASE CONTACT US EITHER VIA THIS WEBSITE OR USING THE TELEPHONE NUMBER DISPLAYED OUTSIDE CHURCH

We encourage everyone to watch out for neighbours and friends, and serve in whatever ways we can.
