The Methodist Way of Life

The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel (the "good news") of God's love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission.

So, members of the Methodist Church accept four main commitments:

The Commitments

We worship regularly with others within the local Church, praying daily, looking and listening for God in the world and in Scripture.

We care for ourselves and those around us, practising hospitality and generosity. We learn about Christianity through personal study and meeting with others in fellowship, so that we may grow in faith and support others in their faith journey.

We will be a good neighbour in our communities and beyond, challenging injustice, caring for the world and all that God has given us.

We will live in a way that draws others to Jesus, speaking of the love of God and sharing our faith with others when the opportunity arises.

A prayer:

May we be a blessing within and beyond God's Church, for the transformation of the world.
